1. Who we are
Tankersathi is software for a single water-tanker business owner to run their own deliveries — scheduling, customers, payments and expenses, all from one phone. This policy covers the Tankersathi app used by the business owner and the customer app / booking page used by their customers. Contact us on WhatsApp at 7813899016.
2. Information the business owner gives us
When you set up Tankersathi, we store your business name, owner name and phone number, and — if you choose to add them — your email address, postal address and GST number.
3. Your business logo and tanker photo
Your logo or tanker photo is shown on your public booking page, so it is stored in a publicly readable location. Anyone who has your booking link can see it. Receipt images are not public — only you can see those.
4. Information about your customers
As you use the app, you can record your customers' name, phone number, an alternate phone number, address, area, landmark and notes.
Your customers' details belong to you. You decide what to record about them and you are responsible for it. We store and process that information on your behalf, and each business's records are kept separate — no other business using Tankersathi can see yours.
5. Your business records
The app stores the order and expense records you create: order amounts, delivery dates, payment status, expenses and receipt images.
6. Contacts on your phone
Tankersathi reads your phone's contacts only when you ask it to — on the import screen, or when you pick a customer from your phone book while making an order — and only after you have agreed. Contacts stay on your phone. Only the people you actually select are saved as customers and stored on our servers; the rest are never uploaded.
Turning on caller recognition also asks for contacts permission, so Android will let Tankersathi recognise callers already saved in your phone book.
7. Recognising callers
If you turn on caller recognition, Tankersathi checks an incoming number against a list of your own customers that is stored on your phone. The number is never sent to us or to anyone else. Tankersathi does not read your call history.
To offer to record an order right after a call, the app detects that a call started and ended, and how long it lasted. This feature is optional, and the app works without it. To do this it also asks for permission to show you a notification after the call, so it can offer to record the order.
8. Your public booking page
If you turn on public booking, your business name, logo and phone number can be seen by anyone who has your booking link.
9. Customers who book online
If a customer creates an account to book online, we store the name and email address from their Google sign-in, along with the phone number and delivery address they give us, so their booking can be delivered and they can see its status.
That name, phone number and delivery address are given to the water-tanker business the customer is booking from, so that business can deliver the order. The business owner reads these details directly inside their own Tankersathi account.
10. How the information is protected
All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Data is held in a Postgres database with row-level security, so each business can read only its own records. Our database is hosted by Supabase in the ap-south-1 (Mumbai) region.
11. Deleting your account
Deleting your account removes your business and everything in it, permanently — there is no recovery. In the app, go to More → Delete account. See our account deletion page for exactly what is removed and how to request deletion without the app.
12. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
